Prophecy Seminars
Dr. D.B. Martin has developed a seminar which clearly and concisely communicates the highlights of Biblical teaching regarding the end times.
Some of the things you can expect to receive from the seminar, in Pastor Martin’s own words:
Motivation and Challenge
“The typical church today is asleep, if not in bondage. We have programmed ourselves, but lack fire, motivation and urgency. Prophecy has a part in changing this.”
Relevant Teaching and Application
“The danger of the study of prophecy is speculation without application. We need to study prophecy with a Bible in one hand and a newspaper in the other. A fresh vision of the imminent return of Christ can motivate the lost to be saved, and it can awaken believers to get right with God, to rebuild broken relationships and to share their faith.”
Hope and Encouragement
“We get our roots so deep in this world, without realizing that it is a vapor. The overriding message of end time prophecy is, “Hey, look at the wonderful things God has in store for his Bride!” Jesus will be exalted, wickedness will be judged, and we will reign with Christ for eternity. This is something worth looking forward to and preparing for!”
The Basic Prophecy Seminar is designed for eight hours of study covering most of the book of Revelation and sections of Daniel, Matthew, 1 & 2 Thessalonians. Two primary plans have been most effective:
Weekend Prophecy Seminar
Friday evening two hour session with refreshment break, Two hour Saturday morning session with refreshment break. Here comes the option of either providing lunch and having a two hour afternoon session with no Saturday evening session or dismissing Saturday at noon and coming back for a two hour Saturday evening session (No afternoon session). This week-end prophecy seminar would continue with a prophecy sermon in the regular Sunday morning service and concluding with a two hour prophecy session Sunday evening, again with a refreshment break. This allows for approximately eight hours of prophecy study.
Half-Week Prophecy Seminar
Open with a prophecy sermon in regular Sunday morning service. Then Sunday through Wednesday evening with two hour prophecy seminar with refreshment break, each of these four evenings. Again this provides approximately eight hours of prophecy study.
One Sunday Bible Prophecy Seminar
This would include a Sunday morning message on prophecy and a suggested two hour Condensed Prophecy Seminar on Sunday evening (with refreshment break in the middle). This is an opportunity to taste and see if you would like to have a full eight hour Prophecy Seminar.
Revival Format
This would involve revival type services, i.e. singing, special music, etc. Rather than covering all of Revelation, it would feature sermons on the most significant end time prophetic topics. This could be on a weekend or Sunday through Wednesday, (or more if desired).
Seminars may be adapted to the local situation and schedule.
Audio-visuals
Pastor Martin is prepared to present his seminar visuals through Power Point from his laptop. Church needs to provide a video projector and screen or Power Point also may be shown through a large TV monitor.
Arranging a seminar:
If you are interested in hosting a Prophecy Seminar or just have questions, please contact Pastor Martin directly by phone, (757) 426-1239, snail mail or email.
Finances
This is a faith ministry. Pastor Martin does not have a set required fee. He requests that host churches provide him transportation and hospitality plus a love offering. This may be done through the church budget, free will offerings, or a seminar registration fee. That is a local church matter.
